- Laurence is telling caterer (Nadege Fleurlemond) 75-100 people
- Continental breakfast
- Hot lunch
Laurence and Jean both have positive experience with Nadege. She's a good caterer.
Reaching Out and Homestay
- Jean has rec'd brochures from John and list of Haitian churches from Laurence
- He will be visiting churches and intends to do a mailing in February
- He is also intending to work with Lily to do a mailing to Haitian educators connected to HABITEK
- Jean Plaisir will be doing three radio interviews in March: WNYE 91.5, Radyo Optimom, and Jean Refuge
Jean will also see if John can participate in call.
Update from John
- no progress on hotels - this is a priority for next two weeks.
- Guestbook is set up and all planning committee members are encouraged to sign-up and encourage others to do same
- There is also a message board
- Seton Law School will be exhibiting http://facingourhistory.org photo exhibition during the month of February. John will be going there for three visits to facilitate discussions using the photo book. This will be an opportunity to promote Haiti Salon.
- The organization that Guy Antoine is involved with is exploring the possibility of having the exhibit at their office in Newark during the month of March.
Larger spaces
- Laurence has checked with Brooklyn public library and a church where they're doing and event but it seems that neither are that large.
- Jean Plaisir will also be checking into some spaces in public high schools. He'll talk with Lily about this.
