Dear Gary, Georges and Samba, (Georges, I failed to get Samba's email. Would you be kind enough to send it to me?)

It was a pleasure meeting with you. We know that you're extremely busy, which makes us especially grateful for your time on a Saturday afternoon.

I am copying two co-workers on this message in addition to Louis- Henri and Heguel. They are Fremy Cesar and Abelard Xavier. Both are full time with Limye Lavi and skilled in facilitating open space, reflection circles and other participatory methods. Abelard and Louis- Henri are available and prepared to work as a team to respond to your inquiries and needs. Fremy and I are available in a supportive role. Like Heguel, we have numerous other practitioners who are available if KATA decided to have numerous groups trained in reflection circles and open space. Fremy was out of the country and was not available to join us on Saturday and Abelard is not fluent in English. He is fluent in French.

Abelard's telephone number is 656-0644. Louis-Henri's number is 448-0254.

We talked about the 6-month training involving weekly meetings of one and a half hours and several day-long open space meetings. While this approach has worked well given the time constraints of most of the groups we've worked with, we also have experience in creating shorter term and more intensive training programs that may be completed in a couple of months. We have learned that multiple sessions with time in between for reflection and application are the most effective.

Organizations like Concern Worldwide--they had all 105 of their employees go through training with us--invested in this training as a capacity building strategy. They experienced rapid growth in a short amount of time and felt their employees needed training that would result in more effective communication and collaboration and less conflict. Laurie Richardson, Concern's Director of Programs, is available to talk with you at 458-1415.

Georges, we're eager to explore with you how we might be able to facilitate several interventions that help to improve collaboration among your KATA Gonaive staff and also among staff in Gonaive Municipality. As discussed, we're experienced in facilitating training programs using these methods as well as using open space approach for one time meetings and gatherings.

I'm attaching an example of a proposed work plan for one of my recent open space engagements. This indicates preparation and planning involved for convening more than 350 people for a two and a half day open space event. Organizations around the world from World Bank to Scottish Parliament to IBM are using open space to foster synergy among diverse partners.

Again, we want to thank you for your time and interest and look forward to the opportunity of working with you.

Sincerely,
