Open Space Initiatives
This page is a Marketplace for embracing, inviting and supporting direct individual action, in larger and larger groups and communities. Call it Open Space — or call it anything else. If you are taking responsibility for the things you love, we share and support your practice.
Some Current Initiatives Seeking Financial Support
- Open Space Institute USA - multiple programs and projects
- Access Queen - scholarships for OSonOS practitioner conferences
- Circles of Change - Open Space work in Haiti
- More… - see the Initiatives category of the Weblog
- Open Space World - help keep this website online!
New Initiatives Welcome!
This Marketplace is for posting funding requests for community conversations that matter, especially but not exclusively, for those that utilize Open Space Technology meetings.
Do you have a project, initiative, or event that you care about and for which are taking (or willing to take) direct responsibility?
Can you contribute to any of those already posted here?
Can you help us get this marketplace up and running?
How to Contribute Here
The stories blogged in the Initiatives category are examples of Open Space Technology in practice, identifying issues, telling stories, making connections, and taking actions on things that matter. We invite you to learn and contribute as much as you can. Contact the conveners, read their stories, give what you, and post your own. Join us in growing a responsive and responsible marketplace!
- Contribute financially. Read through what other people are doing. Find something you’d like to support. Make your contribution do them directly, via PayPal, personal check, or any other way that they might be inviting payments. Keep in touch with them and follow their progress, as you like.
- Contribute a project or initiative. Post your story, plans and needs somewhere on the web. Send us a link to what you are doing. We’ll post it as an Initiative in our weblog and link to wherever you are accepting payments. Reporting back with news of your progress will help you keep attracting attention and contributions to your work.
Tools for Initiatives
If you’d like to post an initiative, but don’t know how to receive payments online, we can recommend some simple, affordable services:
- PayPal supports individuals receiving secure online payments from people with credit cards.
- DropCash is a free fundraising service where you can describe your project and create a payments and tracking badge like the ones below.
- Blogger and WordPress are free blogging tools that you can use to post news and information about what and why and how you are doing.
These tools are options, not requirements. Personal checks and first class mail still work. These tools make it easier for us to link to you — and easier for others to support your work in Open Space.
