I look forward to learning from and with you. The following is a bit of my background. Please feel free to contact me if I can help you in any way by sharing thoughts, materials, support and community.

I am an independent facilitator and educator, a Fellow with Columbia University's Center for International Conflict Resolution, an an Adjunct Faculty member with the Psychology Master's Program in Organization Development at Sonoma State University. I work internationally -- facilitating, consulting on experiential learning design, and training facilitators in Open Space and other dialogic and interactive methods for engaging deeper reflection, learning and interchange.

My work and my clients are diverse, ranging from facilitating conference-wide dialogue among 1,500 delegates to consulting on conflict resolution processes for teams working in Northern Iraq and East Timor, engaging interdisciplinary thinking between housekeepers, hospitality managers and CEOs for the future of a luxury resort facility, teaching interactive learning methods to health monitoring specialists from developing nations, facilitating learning and dialogue with prison inmates, and helping international funders and their local country partners envision how to fund HIV/AIDS education, treatment, outreach and care in Africa.

Clients on 5 continents include the International AIDS Conferences, U.S. Departments of Labor and Transportation, National Forum for Geosciences Information Technology, One Ocean Marine Forum, U.S. Scholar-Athlete Games, Novartis Vaccines & Diagnostics, Inc., Family Health International, Bank Administration Institute, Bernardus Lodge and Winery, Quail Lodge Resort and Golf Club, Canadian Council for Tobacco Control, Earth Island Institute, Monterey Institute of International Studies, the partnership of United States Agency for International Development, the Peace Corps and the Centers for Disease Control in Mozambique, the International Federation of Red Cross Red Crescent Societies and Heifer International.

I have been involved in AIDS education since 1985, and I am still involved in facilitation and interactive learning consultation for major international AIDS programs.

I am the author of "the Open Space Idea Book", one of the authors featured in "Beyond Bullets and Bombs: Grassroots Peace Building Between Israelis and Palestinians" (J. Kuriansky, editor, Greenwood Publishing Group 2007), co-author of the "Encyclopedia" used by the California HIV/AIDS Hotline, co-author of curriculum such as "Monitoring HIV/AIDS Programs: A Facilitator’s Training Guide" (Family Health International), co-author of "Reach One / Teach One: A Prison Peer Health Education Training Program" (GlaxoWellcome?, co-authored with Katie Kramer), a contributor to "The HeART? of training: A manual of approaches to teaching about AIDS" (Special Projects of National Significance) and 2006 Poet Laureate of the global Open Space community. I have also authored and edited many papers on facilitation, interactive learning and community health -- my work has been translated into Spanish, Kiswahili, Swedish, Korean and Braille. My resources and papers for facilitators and educators - as well as more information about Open Space - are available for free at my website: http://www.openingspace.net
